Special Education Programming involves the use of specially designed instruction tailored to the individual needs of the child. While IEP teams have the responsibility of providing services within the general education setting, as much as possible, a continuum of services and supports are available to meet unique and individual needs of all eligible students.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a major in Health Education and Driver's Education. Shortly after, I completed my Degree in Special Education through ASU and began teaching at Chandler High School. I also completed a Masters Degree in school counseling and then another Masters degree in Ed. Leadership, obtaining Principal Certification following completion of the Masters program. I am a continuing member of the Council for Exceptional Children, having served several years as the president of Arizona CEC. I believe in Life Long Learning and continue to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities as they become available throughout the State.
My Educational Philosophy
Teachers and Staff at Chandler High School believe all students can learn! Some students may need more supports and services than others, but providing students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to be lifelong learners and responsible citizens is our goal for all students. Chandler High School strives to provide a safe, disciplined, and productive environment where all students are meaningfully engaged in learning.
