As partners in your child’s education, it is important to ensure that they are prepared for each step along their educational journey. One way to determine student preparedness is through assessment, and therefore we will be administering ACT Aspire to your student on May 9th and 10th. ACT Aspire will give us important information that will allow us to determine how your child is progressing at their current grade level, as well as along their overall path toward future college and career readiness.
ACT Aspire will tell us which important skills, abilities, and knowledge your student has now, and which ones still need to be learned in order to be successful in school in the future. ACT Aspire will help your child’s teacher understand where your child is succeeding, as well as where extra help or academic focus is needed. ACT Aspire will also provide specific suggestions for improving skills.
Your student will be taking the ACT Aspire [English, math, reading, science and writing] assessment on May 9th and 10th. Please be sure that they are well rested and have a good breakfast those days in order to help them do their best.
Please visit the following links to learn more about this assessment or to download a free copy of Why Take ACT Aspire?

AzMerit testing is right around the corner. Please remember that attendance is very important during the state testing. Please do not check out students early or check in late, due to the strict schedules that must be followed.
The tests are online this year, and each student will be supplied with a laptop to complete testing. Although headphones are on hand, parents are encouraged to send their child with a pair of wired earbuds, as "Bluetooth" devices do not work.
Also, students are encouraged to view and practice for the upcoming tests by going to the AzMerit assessment website.
If you are curious about our AzMerit testing, please click on this link to access our AzMerit FAQ page.
Please click on this link to see the schedule for semester finals. Comprehensive finals will be given at the end of each semester. Finals will be averaged into the students’ grade at the end of the semester with a 10% weight. If students are absent for their finasl, they will have a choice to take them at specified times upon their return. If a student chooses not to make up the examination once missed, it will be counted as a zero. Once the final has been made up, the new grade will be reflected in Infinite Campus.
SRP's Support for Education team visited Santan to see how Mrs. Olson's Project Lead the Way classes work.
Dear Santan Parents and Guardians, thank you for your feedback on our school survey! Please click here to view the results of the Parent Survey from May.
To ensure all students' safety, please note the following changes to Santan's flow of traffic for student drop off/pick up. Both Elementary and Jr. High students are to be dropped off and picked up in the west parking lot by the schools' front offices. Please pull past the crosswalk and wait to drop off/pick up your children on the north side of the crosswalk. Do not drop off/pick up your child on the south side of the crosswalk before you reach the crossing guard. Also, the horseshoe bus parking lot on the southeast side of the school is for school buses only, even when there are no school buses there. Students who participate in before and after school events should be dropped off and picked up in the west parking lot, not the bus parking lot. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
