Upcoming State Assessment Tests in April
1. April 14, 15, 16 - All Bogle students will be taking the new AzMERIT English Language Arts and Mathematics assessments.
2. April 22 - 8th graders will take AIMS Science on April 22.
3. April 17, 20 or 21 - Students currently enrolled in one of these math courses at BJHS will be required to take an End-of-Course Assessment: 8th grade honors, Gifted 7 and 8, Geometry, or Algebra 2.
This year 7th and 8th graders will be allowed to use a scientific or 4 function calculator on a portion of the math examination. Since the school will be unable to provide these for every student, I am encouraging students to bring one from home if able. Additionally, if your child is enrolled in one of the courses listed in bullet 3 above, they will be allowed to use a graphing calculator, without the ability to communicate wirelessly, on all portions of the end-of-course assessment. Again, if you are able to provide your student with this tool, it is appreciated.
It is essential that your student is in school each day during scheduled testing. The Arizona Department of Education requires a 95% daily attendance rate for every school during the testing period. I am hopeful that providing this advance information will allow our families to ensure that doctor, dentist, or personal appointments are not scheduled during these dates.
Our Booster Club will be sponsoring a snack drive to provide a healthy snack to each student on testing days. Parents may contribute pre-packaged containers for classroom groups of 35 students from the following list: gold fish crackers, pretzels, trail mix/granola bars without nuts, fruit gummies or roll-ups. As always, thank you for your on-going support of Bogle and of our students.
We are pleased to report that on August 4, the Arizona Department of Education announced Bogle Junior High has earned an “A” grade for the third straight year. Bogle is only one of two comprehensive junior highs in CUSD to earn the A grade.
