I grew up in Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. I earned a BS in Elementary Education and Special Education from GCU. I have also earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU. I taught 3 years in the Gilbert in an Elementary Special Education program. I moved to the Chandler District and taught the same thing at Erie Elementary. In 2007 I made the move to Santan. I continue to enjoy working with junior high students, and look forward to working with your student this year.
My Education and Professional Background
B.S. in Elementary Education and B.S. in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. Certifications in the areas of Elementary Education, Learning Disabilities, and Emotional Disabilities as well as a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement. All of my teaching experience has been in special education with 6 years in elementary and the rest in junior high.
My Educational Philosophy
With the right resources, tools, supports, and motivation all students can achieve high expectations and goals. Each expectation and goal should be individualized to each student. My job is to help students find the right expectation and goal for them, and how to access the resources, tools and supports that they need. Together we work on motivating them towards the right expectations and goals.
