Welcome to Santan Jr. High! Although this is my 5th year of teaching middle school science, this is my first year here at SJHS. I am so excited to be here, and I look forward to having a fantastic year in science with all of you. We will be doing lots of fun hands-on labs and activities to learn Earth and Space science this year, and with the support of your classmates and myself, you are sure to learn and experience some AMAZING things in this class!
My Education and Professional Background
I have my Bachelor's degree in General Biology with a Chemistry minor from the University of Arizona. I became a certified secondary science teacher through Rio Salado College's Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification program, and I am certified to teach middle school science as well as high school biology. I am currently completing my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Arizona State University and will graduate in December of 2015. For the past 5 years, I have taught middle school science to 5th-8th graders. Most recently I worked for BASIS Chandler teaching chemistry, anatomy, and general science. I came to CUSD and SJHS to use my certification and begin working toward retirement through the AZ teacher pension program. As a former graduate of Chandler High School, I am thrilled to be part of my home district, the best district in the state!

Buehner • “Good schools, like good societies and good families, celebrate and cherish diversity.” –Deborah Meier • The Four C’s of 21st Century Education are Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. • “Who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” –John Dana • “Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two loves together.” –Scott Hayden
