Welcome!

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Steve Tobias and I will be serving this wonderful community as the Dean of Students for the 2020-2021 school year. I am so fortunate to work here with these wonderful students, dedicated staff, and involved parents.

My Education and Professional Background

Mr. Tobias has taught over ten years in middle school in the subjects of English Language Arts and Social Studies. For the past three years, he was a 7th Grade Social Studies teacher at Bogle Jr. High school having served on various committees and coached Flag Football and Track. Prior to coming to CUSD, he served communities as an Assistant Principal for four years. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in History, The University of Arizona -Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision, Arizona State University

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that students need lessons that are relevant to their lives and have teachers that are passionate and experts in their subject area. All students have the ability to learn what is being taught to them if they are willing to learn and have compassionate people teaching them.

Welcome!

Welcome! This class cover the years between 1800 and 1945. Topics we will cover this year will include, but are not limited to: U.S. and World Geography, Western Expansion, the Civil War, Reconstruction, U.S. Industrialization and Expansionism, Progressivism, World War I, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and World War II. A basic knowledge of the three branches of government will be covered, focusing mainly on the Supreme Court cases and Amendments to the Constitution.

My Education and Professional Background

I have taught over ten years in middle school in the subjects of English Language Arts and Social Studies. For the past four years, I served communities as an Assistant Principal. I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Political Science with a minor in History from the University of Arizona and a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University.
