Hello and welcome! I want to say thank you for trusting me with your child this year! I feel privileged to have the opportunity to build a community with each of you and your family. I am thankful to be a part of your child’s life and cannot wait to see what we accomplish this year. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading a good book, and spending time with my friends and family. I am looking forward to an exciting year!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University from the iTeach program where I studied Elementary Education. I had the opportunity to do a full year of student teaching in a 5th grade classroom while attending ASU. After graduating with my Bachelors degree I immediately began teaching 4th grade for two years in Florence, Arizona before coming to CTA Goodman last year! I absolutely love my job every single day and I am excited to continue teaching 5th grade at CTA Goodman this year. I am currently receiving my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and will be finished in Spring of 2020.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe every child is capable of accomplishing incredible things. It is important that I understand each child individually in order to make sure I can accommodate to each of their specific needs. It is also important to hold high expectations for all students but also make learning fun. I believe education should be relatable and engaging so that students enjoy learning and see the importance of being a life-long learner. I want my students to understand that mistakes are not only okay, but encouraged. We can learn from our mistakes and grow together. My educational philosophy starts with a strong foundation of community. I want my students to understand their importance in our classroom and to know they are safe and to feel comfortable as we learn new things everyday. My main goal as your child’s teacher is to inspire them as much as they inspire me everyday!
