Welcome to First Grade! I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. I look forward to cultivating new relationships with the students and families here at Patterson Elementary.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University Fullerton, a Master's Degree in Education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University, as well as a Child Development Directors Permit. I've been a supervisor and a teacher in California's Head Start State Preschool programs and a teacher in grades 1st - 5th. Throughout my teaching career I have worked with second language learners, students with a variety of learning challenges, and diverse cultures.
My Educational Philosophy
My goal is to provide a positive and safe learning environment where all students are encouraged to do their best. I believe that all students are unique and have the ability to become successful students that develop a love for learning. I also believe in nurturing student development and expect nothing less but for them to become independent lifelong learners. With a strong classroom community and supportive parents, all students can be successful.
