Block, Wednesday/Thursday, November 13/14 - Warm up - Short answers on Code Switching. Small group discussion on "Code Switching". Close read "Calpurnia and Scout." Complete all the questions using the RACE Response format.
Friday, November 15 - Read Chapters 15-17. Work on marking passages.

Tuesday, November 5- Warm-Up (Claim, Evidence, Warrant on "Being Well Born"). Take Home Quiz on Chapters 9-11 To Kill a Mockingbird. This quiz will not be accepted late.
Block, Wednesday/Thursday, November 6/7 - Warm-Up Root word of the week. Read Chapters 12-14. Work day - get caught up with all things English.
Friday, November 1 - Warm-Up (Personal Reaction to "Being Well Born"). Argument practice - warrants. Heinz's Dilemma.

Week 1 - October 15-18, 2019
Tuesday, October 15: Warm Up review and MUG Shot, Notes about Identity; Homework Due Wednesday 10/16 - Identity Chart and Poem. Chart Directions, Poem (Directions for poem on handout from class). Bring IDs tomorrow.
Wednesday, October 16: Due: Identity Chart and Poem. Warm-Up: Sentence Combining. Discuss Identity. Create class rules about discussing novel. Review quote project (this is the major project for the quarter!).
Friday. October 18: Warm-Up: Basha Gives Back. In class - National Day on Writing options. Homework: To Kill a Mockingbird Pre-reading research questions due on Monday.
*The last day to turn in late work for the quarter is on Friday, September 13th. Late work will not be accepted for the rest of the quarter after the 13th unless a student is absent the day something is due. The assignment will then be due the day they return.
