• Week of April 1 - April 8

    Hello Class

For the week of April 1 - April 8th I would like to look at sections 10.1 and 10.2 in the text book.

I will attach my classroom notes and homework for both on my school website. I will include a blank copy and a filled out copy for each. You do NOT need to print these. I am NOT collecting the paper/pencil homework. I give you these to help you along with the text book to study these sections.

I have also attached a list of u-tubes that you can view to help you get started in Chapter 10 as well. They are wonderful. Please view these in addition to looking at the notes/textbook.

I will open Webworks for Chapter 10 and have it due mid May. This is the work I will use to determine if you are engaged in 4th quarter material so please get the first couple questions done to ensure you are up and running.

I have special opportunity for students who did NOT earn 100% on their Chapter 5 Webworks. I have extended the due date and would love to see you earn 100% on this. You have your old notes and homework for this chapter that you can refer to. This opportunity is offered all of my students in Honor’s Pre-Calc. The system is now up and running for you to work.

Note this would be in addition to your efforts in Chapter 10.

Reminder that I have asked you to complete the first couple problems in Chapter 10 to indicate you are engaged in 4th quarter material.  Please center on this first as I am looking to see who has not engaged.

I have made the due date in May as I am not sure that all students have access to computers and internet connection. The district is working on this.

My Google Classes for Honor’s Pre-Calc  are up and running. Today I am also sending directions for your initial sign in Google Classroom . As you follow the steps please note that your names are already in my google classrooms. Thus, you will NOT need a class code. I also have been shared by other teachers that when students have trouble getting into their Google Classroom a good idea is to be logged out of any other Google Account.

I now have three videos in Google classroom that you can access. These are designed to help you with 10.1 and 10.2, the two sections we are doing the week of April 1 - April 8th.

As you are watching the videos in Google classroom, or the u-tubes provided on my faculty webpage, use a piece of notebook paper to write down important vocabulary terms and examples.

Remember our goals this week is to get a couple problems done in Chapter 10 Webworks, and to learn 10.1 and 10.2.

For those that did not earn 100% on their Chapter 5 Webworks another goal is to raise this to 100%.

It feels good to be learning material again.

Take care. I miss all of you

If you have any questions just send me an email and I can go from there.

  • Week of April 8 - April 15

For the week of April 8 - April 15th I would like to look at section 10.3

    We are SKIPPING 10.4.

I have attached my classroom notes and homework on my school website. I have included a blank copy and a filled out copy for each. You do NOT need to print these. I am NOT collecting the paper/pencil homework. I give you these to help you along with the text book to study this section. Note I included a couple reviews for 10.1 - 10.3 which will help you summarize those sections.

Last week I attached a list of u-tubes that you can view to help you get started in Chapter 10 as well. They are wonderful. Please view these in addition to looking at the notes/textbook. I have been informed this was hard to open, so I will send out a message in infinite campus with these that may help that situation.

Webworks for Chapter 10 is up and running. Each week you should be working on problems in Chapter 10 Webworks.  This is part of the work I will use to determine if you are engaged in 4th quarter material thus it is vital that you move forward on this task each week.

To repeat last week’s offer I have special opportunity for students who did NOT earn 100% on their Chapter 5 Webworks. I have extended the due date and would love to see you earn 100% on this. You have your old notes and homework for this chapter that you can refer to. This opportunity is offered all of my students in Honor’s Pre-Calc. The system is now up and running for you to work. This would surely be an indicator that you are trying to improve your grade. For those students who are working towards improving your grade I will look at Chapter 5 Webworks to see your efforts.

I have made the due dates in May as I am not sure that all students have access to computers and internet connection at all times so wanted to give you full opportunity to turn in work.

As you know Google Classes for Honor’s Pre-Calc  are up and running and you were to complete three activities last week. The week of April 8 - April 15 should be two activities for you to do in Google Classroom.

As you are watching the videos in Google classroom, or the u-tubes provided on my faculty webpage, use a piece of notebook paper to write down important vocabulary terms and examples.

Please send me questions via email, and I will attempt to help you.

We are all learning in these hard times. Please have a safe week.

  • Week of May 6 - May 13

    Week of May 6  - May 13

    Honor’s Pre-Calc

I hope this finds you well.

This week we are starting section 6.3 Polar Coordinates. We learn how to write and graph

    polar coordinates this week.

The homework/notes and University of Phoenix videos provided on my faculty website are there to support your learning to meet this goal. I will not collect any paper pencil homework from you.

On my faculty website you will find blank and completed copies of 6.3 Day 1 Notes and 6.3 Day 1 Homework.  These problems show every step and can be used as a guide when working a problem. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SET OF NOTES/HOMEWORK WILL BE USED THIS WEEK AND NEXT.

As before, I have also included Math tutorials through The University of Phoenix. The list of tutorials can be found on my Hamilton Faculty Webpage under this week’s activities along with the URL address. They are also listed below. I would strongly suggest you watch the videos prior to working any google classroom activities, or attempt any Webwork for Chapter 6.

The University of Phoenix videos are found at the following site. Look for the Trigonometry option

Polar Coordinates of a Point 4 Ways (Degrees)

Example:  Convert a Point in Rectangular Coordinates to Polar Coordinates Using Degrees

Chapter 6 WebWork is now open. It is called Biltzer6 2020. This will remain open until May 22nd as well to allow students to work each week on these problems. There are a total of 9 problems so begin to target this activity. Doing a few problems each week is a great goal.

This week I have two Google Classroom Assignment for you to complete. The first is a video Polar Coordinate Notes which you can watch.  The second is a Google Quiz Plotting Polar Coordinates 12 Questions designed to show you have mastered these two properties. Please be reminded that you should study the material prior to taking the Google Quiz.

    Polar Coordinate Notes (video)

Plotting Polar Coordinates 12 Questions Google Quiz.

Chapter 10 Webworks should be finished and Chapter 6 Webworks should continue, but just like all assignments will stay open for your continued efforts. All past assignments are still available and all past assignments can still be completed. Many students must share one computer per family and with that in mind I did not want to set deadlines each week for assignments. Thus, feel free to work past week’s activities as well as our present week’s activities.

Most of my due dates are set towards the end of May. This is because there will be a point I must stop taking student work, and calculate a 4th nine week's grade. This will be around May 22nd.

Infinite campus will be updated hopefully once per week. Please understand that since each student can turn in any assignment it becomes a major task to keep all grades updated. I will do my best.

On another note, I continue to offer students who did not earn 100% on their Chapter 5 Webworks the opportunity to raise their score. The grade on Chapter 5 Webworks will be one of the grades to determine if you are able to raise your semester grade. You have these notes and homework for reference.

As you know your Hamilton third nine week grade will become your Hamilton semester grade if you do not complete 75% of the 4th quarter grades. If you do earn 75% of the 4th quarter grade you can raise your grade by 1 letter grade.

Please send me any questions via email.
