Students are continuing to learn about transformations. There will be a formative on Friday, May 14th over the lessons. Students will receive their formative and summative assessments this week taken from previous weeks. Student who have been absent are completing make-ups tomorrow after school.
Students will receive their final study guide in class this Wednesday. They will get time to work on it in class the week of May 17th. I will post answers to sections throughout the next two weeks in Google Classroom.
Happy May 1st! It is hard to believe we are in May of a school year that has been like no other. I appreciate all the students and families who have hung in this year with all the changes.
Students have a summative on Pythagorean Theorem on Monday. They received a study guide in class on Friday. The answers are posted in Google Classroom. We are finishing up the last two chapters before we start preparing for the semester final. Students will be learning about surface area and volume this next week. Students will then learn about transformations and have a formative on that section as well. Ask your student to see their May calendar, it will give you specific dates on lessons and assessments.
If your student is absent from class, please have him/her go into Google Classroom to get the assignment and notes.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Students finished chapter 1 this past week. They had an in class project/assessment using what was learned in the lessons.
Students will be continuing in CPM for the rest of the quarter. They will be learning about angles and Pythagorean Theorem this upcoming week.
Students are finishing up chapter 1 learning about exponents and scientific notation. They will solve a mystery using math for their summative on chapter 1. It will be completed during class this week on Thursday and Friday, if needed.
After this week, they will return to working with CPM for the rest of the year.

Just a reminder - If your student is absent from math class, I will put the lesson in Google Classroom by the end of the day the student misses school. I try to get the lessons updated for students, so they do not feel behind when returning to class.
Students took a summative on chapter 4: functions on Friday. They are starting chapter 1: exponents and scientific notation on Monday, April 12. They will receive a calendar of assignments and assessments on Monday for the month of April.
Students finished reviewing for AZ M2 (formerly known as AZ Merit).
Students are working through chapter 4 Functions in Glencoe Math. There is a summative on Thursday, April 8.
This upcoming week, students will be taking AZ M2. They will be taking them in their second period class.
Students need to bring a book or something quietly to work on when finished testing. They cannot have any electronics out or school work.
Students are working on chapter 4 in Glencoe math regarding functions. They have a formative on Tuesday, March 30 over lessons 1 - 4. There will be a summative on Thursday, April 8. Yes, students I moved it one more day. Students are hard at work reviewing concepts for their grade level in preparation for AZM2 (formerly known as AZ Merit).

Students are finishing up first semester of Pre-Algebra. They took a summative on chapter 3 in Glencoe this past week and created a slope drawing using slope intercept form. The drawings came out very nice and reinforced how you can find slope on anything.
Students received their study guide for the semester final on Thursday. The final is on Wednesday.
