About
MacGorman...
Hi, everyone! Welcome to Mr. Mac's homepage.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009 with an English degree and took a four-year detour through the banking industry, where I excelled as a licensed banker, business banker, and branch manager. After a bit of introspection, I changed careers in 2014 and immediately felt at home in the classroom. In the summer of 2017, I moved to San Diego from a high school in Arizona, where, out of over 60 teachers, I had been voted the 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year by the student body. For the next three years, I worked at a project-based charter school and taught English, Spanish, history, PE, algebra, geometry, and social-emotional courses. I moved back home to Arizona in the summer of 2020, and I am excited to continue having an impact with students in Chandler!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that education is the best tool we have for cultivating a population that is informed, engaged, and introspective. I get fulfillment from helping students grow both intellectually and philosophically.
