Welcome!

Welcome to Hamilton High School! I am the dean of students. I have been in education for nearly 25 years, spending the past 14 years in CUSD as an English teacher. My goal at HHS is to ensure that students share in the best high school experience. I am here to support students, teachers, and families along the way. I look forward to meeting current and future Huskies!

My Education and Professional Background

The East Valley is where I have made my home. After growing up in Mesa, I began community college at MCC before finishing a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Ottawa University. I am a Montessori educator and taught prior to choosing public education which started at McClintock High School in Tempe and began an 18 year career of teaching English Language Arts (ELA) - 14 at our sister high school, Perry, where I served as the ELA department chair. I concurrently worked as adjunct English faculty at Chandler Gilbert Community College teaching composition. I earned a graduate degree in Education Leadership from NAU along with a principal certification, and a gifted endorsement. Most recently, I completed a graduate certificate in Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies from NAU.

My Educational Philosophy

I am privileged to bear witness to tomorrow’s promise: all students. I am an educator who remains in awe of the vibrant energy students share; I want to capitalize on this great resource and assist them in reaching their fullest potential. I look forward to establishing and nurturing relationships with students and staff and I believe that all students can achieve and reach higher when the culture is encouraging and supportive enough.
