    Biography:

I was born and raised in Modesto, California, and graduated from Fred C. Beyer High School in 1980.  Even though it took me a few years to return to college, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Cal State University Fresno in 1998.  I later earned my California Teaching Credential and began teaching 6th grade for Stockton Unified School District in 2003.  Later that year I learned that my brother and his wife were expecting their first child, my one and only nephew, so I followed them to Chandler in 2006 to be close to them.  I also started  working for Chandler Unified that year, teaching 6th grade.  I am very excited to still be working for Chandler Unified, especially now teaching 1st grade-my favorite grade so far!  I was fortunate enough to be a part of the team that opened Carlson in 2012.  I am thrilled to be here and am looking forward to teaching your little first grade champions!

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies, reading, spending time with my family, and traveling to Oregon to visit my parents.  I  always travel with my dog Ruby who loves running in the big, open, space where my parents live.  I also enjoy traveling with my young nephew who is starting his sophomore year of High School!  His thoughts are mostly on working and learning to drive in a couple of years!
