    Chandler Teen Leadership Academy

    The teen leadership academy is a free, five-day program held during the spring school intersession that teaches participants about the inner-workings of municipal government, from the Mayor and Council office to every department in the City. The spring 2019 academy will be held March 11-15, 2019 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Students meet with city elected officials, managers and staff while also participating in activities to better understand how Arizona's fourth largest city is run. fOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT THE OFFICE OF THE mAYOR AND cOUNCIL AT 480-782-2222.

    Eligibility -

    • Must be currently enrolled in high school
    • Must be a Chandler resident
    • Must have transportation to and from the City Hall complex all five days
    • ust have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn about the City

    Phoenix Youth Leadership Council 

    We are currently looking for new members for the Phoenix Youth Leadership Council, students and young leaders please look over the application to this prestigious council. Members of this council have typically consisted of members from the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Family Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and Key Club, however all individuals interested in leadership in our community are encouraged to apply.

    This council in the past has provided opportunities to students in various ways including

    • Developing leadership skills through council positions and opportunities

    • Create an elite network of students from all over the Phoenix Valley to connect and create ideas together

    • Have the opportunity to attend March of Dimes events including the March for Babies

    • Meet with Arizona State Legislatures to advocate on behalf of the March of Dimes

    • Meet with Neonatologists and other Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Staff members and participate in a NICU tour

    • Provide experience to include on their resume

    • Develop fundraising abilities and ideas with high school/college students from all over the valley 

    • And so many more!!!

    Youth Arts Council

    Now Accepting Applications!
    Deadline: September 6

    Teens, ages 13 - 17, are invited to apply and be a part of the ninth class of Youth Arts Council participants. The free program that helps bolster college applications focuses on Arts Appreciation, Community Service & Leadership Skills in order to help youth become advocates for the arts and well-rounded community leaders.

    Teen candidates who are selected for the Council will serve on CCA Advisory Council for one year. They will be engaged in experiential 3-hour sessions, September to March,  provided with hands-on, real world leadership situations that take place at a Performing Arts Center.

    Teens complete the program with increased knowledge of: career opportunities, financial responsibility, leadership skills, small and large group dynamics, public relations and marketing.

    Personal Investment
    The Youth Arts Council program is free of charge to all participants. Teens are expected to miss no more than 3 sessions during their term as a Youth Arts Council member. A Certificate of Completion will be given to each teen at the conclusion of the program year and the class list will be prominently displayed.

    Arts Council Candidates
    Candidates are 13-17 years of age and currently attending a public, private, parochial, charter, or home school.

    How to Apply
    Applications are accepted from July through early September each year and a maximum of 15 teens are selected. The program starts in September and concludes in February
