Hello! I'm so excited to get to know you all as we journey through sixth grade together. Sixth grade is a pivotal year in a child's education. This is the year we make sure students have learned what they need to know to be successful in Junior High and beyond. At Patterson, we also believe that sixth grade is the year to have as much fun as possible, while making memories and practicing the skills we need in life. Skills like: perseverance, self-advocacy, self-control, critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, and how to show respect for those who may have opinions different from our own. We do this through building strong classroom communities, interacting as a grade level, and taking meaningful field trips. I can't wait to get started! It's going to be a great year and I'm honored to be your teacher.
Here's what students need to know for the first week:
Come straight to the classroom when you arrive on campus
Bring a water bottle
Bring a snack (Brain food; not candy. Our lunch isn't until 12:35)
Bring a sweater (It's hot outside, but chilly in the classroom)
