Meet Amy Ring - - Lift Lab Facilitating Teacher
"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." -Theodore Roosevelt
Mrs. Ring was born and raised in a small New England town, Fairhaven, Massachusetts. She spent most of her family time and summers on the beaches of Cape Cod. Upon high school graduation, Mrs. Ring went to a small college in Connecticut, Quinnipiac College (now Quinnipiac University), to study physical therapy. Realizing that this wasn't the field for her, Mrs. Ring graduated with a B.A. in biology in 1994. She continued her studies there and earned her M.A.T. in secondary education with a specialization in science. She immediately began teaching 8th grade and has been teaching middle level science since 1996. During her first year as a teacher, Mrs. Ring earned her 6th year certificate (30 hours beyond a masters degree) as a Science Specialist through theISIS program at Southern Connecticut State University..In 1999, Mrs. Ring moved to Arizona and began teaching in the Chandler Unified School District. As a life-long learner, Mrs. Ring earned her second masters degree, an M.Ed. in educational leadership, in 2014 through ASU. She currently holds an Arizona principal certificate and teaching certificates in grades 7-12 general science and grades 7-12 biology; she also possesses endorsements in grades 5-9 and SEI.In 2019, after 23 years teaching diverse students in middle level science classes, Mrs. Ring transitioned to Casteel High School where she works with students who have struggled to find success in the traditional classroom environment and those who are looking to independently advance their studies. From a personal perspective, Mrs. Ring is a wife to James, a Hamilton math teacher, and mom to three boys: Collin, Andrew, and Bryson. Collin graduated from Hamilton High School and ASU. Andrew graduated from Hamilton High School in 2021 and is training in graphic design. Bryson is currently a student at Hamilton High school. We enjoy our family time together at local sporting events (ASU - Suns, Dbacks), the beaches of San Diego & Cape Cod & the Caribbean, our own activities, and watching our Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics on TV!Go Colts!
