Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
Welcome! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Danielle Douglas and I will by your child’s math teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. I look forward to working with and meeting both you and your child. Together we can help your child have a successful year in math.
I am originally from Michigan. After high school I spent 8 years in the United States Air Force and was stationed both overseas in England and here at the old Williams Air Force Base (now Mesa Gateway Airport). Upon leaving the military, I decided to stay in Arizona and return to school. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Math Education at Arizona State University in 1999. In addition, I received a Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University in 2004 and a Master Degree in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2010.
I am certified to teach mathematics for grades 7 through 12. This will be my 18th year teaching mathematics and my 18th year with the Chandler School District. I spent the first nine years teaching high school math and this will be my ninth year working with and teaching 8th graders.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Some of the things I enjoy doing are reading, cooking, traveling, and just about anything out doors such as hiking, biking, swimming, camping, etc. I also enjoy spending time with my dog.
Again, I look forward to working with you and your child this school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, and/or concerns throughout the school year. My contact information can be found below. Please also take a moment to further explore my website for information about curriculum; helpful strategies for learning; mathematics websites and other information about my classroom such as policies, procedures, and homework.
