• Unique Opportunities for Gifted Students at Willis

Student opportunities are abundant at Willis for all students, but the gifted and talented students are an integral part to the extra-curricular activities at Willis.  Our music program has received national acclaim.  Our Jazz Band was the only junior high representative to a national conference in Kentucky. Our Choir consistently has students perform on State choirs.  The orchestra program is strong as well.  Many gifted and talented students perform in the fine arts.
Gifted students are involved in Student Council, our Ambassadors Club, Culinary Club, Drama Club, and Robotics Club.  We have over 10 clubs at Willis.  Gifted and talented students are involved in our sports teams. Our students are involved outside of school with sports, robotics, community service, and a variety of other things.
Another thing that makes the CATS program, or the gifted program unique at Willis is the integration that occurs.  Willis is a wireless campus.  Students can bring their own devices. We use Google Applications for Education daily.  We plan as a team to focus on an overall theme and then each content area adds to and enhances the theme.
