Welcome to Willis! I've been at Willis since 2008. It seems like just yesterday I arrived here from teaching in a small school district south of here, Stanfield.
I have lived in Arizona since 1994. I moved here from a small town in the Midwest, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Growing up in a small town was a wonderful experience, but by the time college came around, I decided I wanted to try a "big" city. My family helped me pack up my "stuff" and off we drove to the big town of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marquette University is where I received my bachelor's degree.
I come from a family of teachers. My grandmother started her teaching career in a one-room school house in rural Iowa. My mother taught a variety of ages throughout her career in both the Midwest and Arizona before retiring. When I completed my bachelor's degree, I decided that I really wanted to teach. So, I headed back to my hometown to move back in with my parents so I coul
d attend Iowa Wesleyan College to earn my teaching certificate.
In 2002, I received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction - English as a Second Language from Arizona State University.
I am looking forward to working with the students this
