The more you read the smarter you get! When you introduce age
appropriate and interesting texts to children, it excites them and encourages
them to read more. It is important to always make reading an enjoyable
experience. Children who are learning to read can read words they
know or read the pictures! Soon they will be able to read all the words
on the page. Here are some great stories we have read in our classroom
and they may practice reading at home with you. Check them out!
Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See
Brown Bear sees many different colored animals looking at him. We can learn how to retell the story by putting the characters in order!
Harold and the Purple Crayon
Where is Harold going to write this time? We like to read about the main character, Harold, and we can write with him!
It Looked Liked Spilt MIlk
When I look up at the sky, what do I see? We can make many shapes from white clouds! We love this story!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
We can find all the letters in our names! We glued them to our Chick Chicka Boom Boom trees!
