    Bear Drive Committee
    A group of students will be working to collect bears to support Team Emery and Phoenix Children's Hospital.  They are starting a committee of NJHS volunteers to help organize the bear drive.  They are having an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 29th.  You will get volunteer hours for attending the meeting and for the work you do outside of the meeting to help the bear drive, like making posters, etc.  Meet in Mrs. Olson's room at 8:30 AM on 11/29.  Please sign up on the signup genius link below. 
     
     
    5th Grade Classroom Helper Wed or Fri.
    One of the fifth grade teachers is looking for a before school helper on Wednesdays or Fridays from 8:15-8:45.  Your duties would include classroom help with paperwork, like filing papers, grading spelling tests, etc.  You would also help for about ~10 minutes with reading with students and other small group work.  If you are interested, please come see Mrs. Olson for more information.
     
    T-Shirt Distribution 
    Please come help pass out t-shirts to NJHS members.
    Be in room 50 (Mrs. Olson's room) at 8:15 AM to help pass out shirts.
    Friday, 11/3/17
    You will receive an hour for the morning.
    You do not need to sign up, just come at 8:15 if you can help.

    Carnival Volunteers - 6th grade booth help

    Mrs. Eberhart and Mr. Navarro are pairing up for two carnival booths this year. Please look at the times below and sign up for any slots you would be willing to work. The games are very simple and and all you would have to do is collect tickets, explain the rules, and then reset the game for the next person. We will be able to set up the booth but may need some help from the first shift, and if you take the last shift hopefully you can help us bring items back to the classroom. Your children are able to work the booth with you and we encourage older siblings who may need service hours to work as well. Times are listed in 30 minute increments to allow more people the opportunity to help, but please consider signing up for 60 minutes.

    We are also looking for volunteers to assemble our baskets on Thursday and make them look presentable. They are due by the end of the day and you can come in any time before that to help.

    Santan Elementary Carnival Volunteers

    The Santan Elementary Carnival, is coming up 11/3/17 and we need some volunteers to make it all happen. From helping with day of set-up, selling tickets, and silent auction help, there are lots of needs and something for everyone. Please consider signing up for at least one volunteer spot. It is going to be Extreme Fun!

    Neighbors Who Care

    Neighbors Who Care, a local non-profit, is having a festival and are in need for some teen volunteers to help with setting up, cleaning up, and other general help.  They're looking for volunteers between 8:30-2:30.  The event will be located on the NE corner of Alma School & Riggs in the business/medical complex.     Halloween is on it's way and we are looking for several volunteers to come and help us out with our annual Halloween Boo Bash at Hull Elementary!  Your help is greatly appreciated!

    PLTW Equipment Unpacking for Mrs. Olson: 
    I received a bunch of PLTW equipment and need help sorting and unpacking.  Bring your earbuds if you want to listen to your own music while you sort.  I'd love to have some help Wednesday, July 19th 9 AM-Noon.  I know this is last minute notice, but I walked into my room this morning to a surprise of about 50 boxes to unpack and unload.  No prior PLTW experience needed, but you'll recognize the equipment if you've taken my classes before.  Email me if you are interested in helping tomorrow: olson.alysa@cusd80.com 
     
     
    STORMIN DAY!!!!
     Welcome back Stormers.  Our first big event is: STORMIN DAY!!!!  This is a great way for you to earn over half of your In-School hours for the entire year at one event...and before the big stress of the school year starts to overwhelm you.  When you volunteer at Stormin Day, you may be asked to give a tour to new students, help give out maps or other handouts, answer questions, greet parents, run errands, make copies, etc.  Please bring water and be prepared to busy during the 7th grade schedule.  By the time 8th graders come, everything seems to settle down.  You will be able to get your schedule and other handouts during the 8th grade distribution.  
    Date:  Thursday, July 20th
    Time: 11:45-5:00
    Location:  Sign in and train in Mrs. Olson's room (room 50 in the library).Then you will be stationed around campus.
    Bring: WATER!! It will be hot out.
