    Welcome

This will be my third year at ACP-Oakland and I am so excited to be teaching Spanish 1 this year.  In Spanish 1 you will be getting the basics of a language and culture that I love.  This class takes work, dedication, and practice to be successful. We will be working on different organizational and study strategies that will help each student to achieve their full potential.   I will work hard to help all my students be successful in a positive environment.  Bienvenidos a la clase de Español.(Welcome to Spanish class)

    About Me

I am married to my husband of 24 years, Darrin.   I  have two beautiful daughters that have taken most of my time for the last twenty years, Brianna and Melanie.  Although it has been fun, it is time for me to do what I love, and that is teaching Spanish.  I was raised in a bilingual home by my mother, who is from Costa Rica, and my dad from Ohio, two very different worlds.  My mother made sure we knew not only the language, but our roots.  At the age of 14, I fell in love with my culture on a trip to Costa Rica and decided I wanted to teach my world about this loving culture.  On my down time I love to knit, scrapbook, mountain bike, and travel.

    Educational Philosophy

I look forward to expanding my student’s minds to the diversity and culture of the Spanish world.
