Foundational Skills:
Print Concepts
· Follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page
· Recognize spoken words in written language
Phonological Awareness
· Recognize & produce rhyming words
· Count, pronounce, blend, & segment syllables in a spoken word
· Produce the sound for each consonant
· Isolate & pronounce the initial, medial vowel, & final sounds in words
· Add or substitute sounds in words to make new words
· Know and apply word analysis skills to decode words
· Read high-frequency words by sight
Speaking & Listening
· Participate in collaborative conversations about Kindergarten topics
