Video of the Bucket Drummers performing at theTalent Show
The Humphrey Bucket Drumming Club is open to students in grades 3-6. It is a percussion ensemble where students read, write, practice, rehearse and perform their own musical compositions. They read and write standard drum music notation that has been adapted to be played on a standard five gallon plastic bucket. Regular drum sticks and sticking technique is used. Through the placement of the stick and by tipping the bucket slightly with the foot one is able to produce three distinct tones; standard "snare", rim and bass tones. It is both an instrumental performance ensemble and composition class that will serve all interested students and especially those who may not feel comfortable in a vocally oriented music club like chorus or drama club. The meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2:45-3:30 p.m.
