NEW SEI Endorsement Requirements
Effective June 22, 2015, the following changes to the SEI Endorsement will be implemented:
Individuals may qualify for a Full SEI Endorsement with three semester hours or 45 clock hours of State approved SEI Endorsement training. Completion of the Provisional SEI Endorsement training is no longer required to qualify for the Full SEI Endorsement.
The Provisional SEI Endorsement remains in Board rule because of a statutory requirement. All certified educators, regardless of when they obtained their initial certificate, may qualify for the Provisional SEI Endorsement by completing one semester hour or 15 clock hours of SEI Endorsement training. Educators who choose to complete the Provisional SEI Endorsement training will still be required to complete three semester hours or 45 clock hours of SEI completion training to qualify for the Full SEI Endorsement. Therefore, because Provisional SEI training is no longer required for the Full SEI Endorsement, all applicants are advised to complete the three semester hours or 45 clock hours SEI completion training to qualify for the Full SEI Endorsement.
Individuals who qualified for a Provisional SEI Endorsement with either a three semester hour or 45 clock hours SEI training now qualify for the Full SEI Endorsement and are not required to complete additional SEI training in order to maintain their certificate. These individuals may add the Full SEI Endorsement by submitting a completed “Application for Certification” and a check or money order for $60.
