Caryn Butler

  • I have taught in the Chandler School District since 1997 and have been at Perry since 2008. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Math, Computer Applications, Career Technology, Foundations of Information Technology, Digital Photography and Graphic Design. I also spent 4 years working as an Instructional Technology Specialist for the district. Early in my career, I worked in junior highs, and have loved the transition to high school! I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Arizona State University.

I originally come from Kettering, Ohio; a suburb of Dayton. Much of my family still lives in the surrounding area.  I have a daughter, Steffanie, that lives in Portland, OR. along with her two amazing children.  I also have 3 step-children that are spread out across the country.

I truly enjoy teaching graphic design and watching the students grow in their ability to communicate visually!  It is great to be able to introduce them to industry-standard technology and software and watch their creativity and skills flourish.  Even if they choose other career paths, they most certainly benefit from the experiences and skills that this program has to offer.
