Welcome! I hope you find this website helpful. My name is Mrs. Schliesmann, but if you prefer, Mrs. S. will be just fine.
My Education and Professional Background
I joined the CUSD family in 2002. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University. I received my Certification and Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement from Grand Canyon University. I graduated with honors. Since graduating I have worked in kindergarten through third grade and I have worked as a reading/literacy specialist
My Educational Philosophy
I believe children learn best in a secure, student centered, meaningful environment. Every child is a valuable member of the classroom and is an important contributor. As a facilitator of this environment, I strive to provide for hands-on, purposeful learning experiences, in a supportive learning environment. I believe that each child has their unique strengths, and that all children can learn and want to achieve success. I will do my best to encourage your child to his/her personal best.
