I was born in Arizona and have lived here my entire life. I grew up in Mesa, but I currently live in Chandler with my wife Sarah, nine year old daughter Elise, and six year old son Charlie. There is never a dull moment with my two wacky kids at home! Sports are a big deal to me and I'm a HUGE sports fan and especially love to root on the Cardinals, Suns, D-Backs, and Detroit Tigers. In my free time I also enjoy reading fiction and history as well as listening to all different types of music.
My Education and Professional Background
I love teaching 5th grade, this year will by my twelfth year teaching and eleventh in 5th grade. I am very excited to be at Fulton for my sixth year! I graduated from Arizona State with a degree in history and got my Masters in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe it is crucial to create and preserve a positive and respectful learning environment that supports student development. In addition, it is important to meet the differing needs and abilities of a diverse group of students. I believe all students can succeed and become life long learners and it's the teacher's job to be an intellectual and moral role model for their students. However, teachers are also facilitators, asking questions and making suggestions in order to promote student learning.
