Perry High is a great school and I am happy to be a part of it. If you know me, you've probably heard me say that I have the best class on campus or Puma Pals are the best! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. We have 2 Jack Russell Terriers and a Standard Poodle that keep us busy! I spend most of my time outside with them, making crafts or reading.

My Education and Professional Background

• A.S. in Child Studies • B.A. in Early Childhood Education • B.S. in Sociology • Masters in Special Education • Certified in both Early Childhood, and Special Education K-12 • Originally from Massachusetts, taught K-2, then helped to establish a Vocational program for 16-22 yrs. olds. • Moved to Arizona in 2003; spent 5 yrs. teaching Priority Preschool in CUSD. • Came to Perry High School in 2008 when C.A.S.E. (Curriculum for Alternate Standards Education) program was established and have been here ever since.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that everyone is unique and special. No two students are alike and all students have individual characteristics, needs and learning styles. Students are influenced when they are accepted for who they are and focus on their strengths rather than their weaknesses. Promoting self esteem encourages growth and success for all students. Every moment can provide learning. My classroom provides acceptance for all students and provides functional learning activities, as well as social development to help students prepare for the real world. The modeling of effective teamwork among the staff in my classroom helps students to grow and develop cooperative social skills.
