STEM is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. At CTA Independence students visit the STEM Lab every six days. They participate in modules that reinforce science and math standards taught in their homeroom classes. Additionally, we build a strong foundation for students by focusing on the skills of problem solving, communication, both written and oral, critical thinking, and collaboration. These 21st century skills are needed for our students to be competitive in a global society. Further, these hands-on projects allow students to work through the engineering process which encourages innovative, flexible thinking.
