Our PE Curriculum is based on the AZ PE/Health State Standards. Below is a list of skills/activities that your child will learn throughout their PE years here at Tarwater.
Movement Skills and Spatial Awareness (introduced K-2, reviewed 3-6)
Locomotor Skills—walk, jog, skip, gallop, slide, dodge, hop, climb, leap, jump
Pathways—straight, curved, zigzag
Manipulative Skills— throwing, catching, collecting, kicking, dribbling, volleying, striking
Non-manipulative Skills—turning, twisting, rolling, balancing, transferring weight, jumping and landing, stretching, curling, bending, shaking, swaying
Cup Stacking, Fitness activities, Nutrition lessons, Jump Rope, Team Building, Fit Stixx
Sport Units (3-6)
Lacrosse, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball, Hockey, Kickball, Bowling, Disability sports,
Health Related Fitness (3-6)—Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, Muscular Strength and Endurance, Body Composition
