Hello Champions! My name is Elizabeth Sacco and I'm looking forward to being your new Dean of Students at Carlson. This will be my 11th year in education and 7th in the Chandler Unified School District.
My Education and Professional Background
I taught elementary and middle school for ten years in the Bordentown, Glendale, and Chandler school districts. I graduated from Kean University where I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary/Middle School Education (K-8). I also earned my master's degree in Reading and Literacy (K-8) from Walden University and hold a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe in the education of the whole child because when students' social-emotional needs are met, the academics follow. The goal of every school should be to support children, meet their needs, and ignite a passion for learning and exploration. Through discovery of their interests, abilities, and learning styles, students will feel successful and excel cognitively and social-emotionally. Every child should feel valued and connected to the school through meaningful relationships to both faculty and other students. My mission as the Dean of Students is to support the staff, students, and families while providing a positive learning environment for all learners to grow and develop. I believe if we have students' interests in mind, we win 100% of the time!
