Welcome to Ms. Lauren's Priority Preschool classroom! I am so happy you are here. Your family can refer to me as Ms. Lauren.
My Education and Professional Background
I began teaching at Bologna in 2017. I grew up in Mesa, but I am learning to love Arizona again after 6 years in Seattle. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology and Family/Human Development from Arizona State University in 2010. I graduated from the University of Washington in 2012 with a Master's in Early Childhood Special Education. Formerly, I taught special education preschool and early intervention for 4 years in Washington. I have experience coaching preschool teachers and parents on how best to work with their child to maximize strengths, reduce stress or power struggles, and meet the many needs of students and families. It is important to me that students and family gain the skills necessary to have success in the community.
My Educational Philosophy
My primary focus in the classroom is for my students to feel like they are an important part of our classroom community and that they belong here. I also focus on vital social, independence, and school skills necessary for kindergarten and beyond.
