• Thank you for taking the time to check out my website and learn a little bit about who I am. I am excited to be your English Teacher this year! There are so many fun things planned in order to develop your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. I chose to teach English because I feel that it is important to develop strong skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in order to effectively communicate, analyze, and articulate thoughts and ideas. The benefits of these skills extend well beyond the classroom.

A little bit about me; I was born in England, moved to California in 1998, and settled in Arizona in 2009 when I decided to attend Arizona State University.

My educational achievements consist of: a Bachelor's Degree and Certificate in Technical Communication; Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership; while I am currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration and Management in Instruction and Communication.

Teaching is my second career. I obtained my teaching certificate through Rio Salado Community College with the sole purpose of teaching in a high school classroom. My previous professional background consists of working in the fields of; higher education, finance, business operations, learning and development, accounting, and instructional design. I also possess a handful of specialized certificates related to those areas.

I run my classroom much like a business, where each student is an important component that adds to the learning environment and experience. I strive to directly connect the skills developed in the classroom to real-world applications.

On campus I provide support and guidance to our Sparrow Club, DECA program, and Speech and Debate team.

When I am not working or studying, I dedicate my life to raising my four children and coaching them in youth sports such as gymnastics, soccer, cheerleading, and golf. Any other "free-time" is spent riding my motorcycle, hiking, running, or playing tennis, softball, and golf.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you this year!
