About
O&Brien...
Teaching is an absolute passion of mine. I am so excited to work with you in first grade this year. It's going to be a year full of fun and learning. I have lived in Arizona all of my life. I'm the youngest of six kids. I've been married to my wonderful husband, David, for almost 21 years. We have a son in college & a daughter in high school. We spend a lot of our free time volunteering, doing projects around the house. We also have a 2 cats, and 2 fish aquariums.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a bachelors and masters in elementary education from NAU. I taught grades first through fifth in the Deer Valley & Gilbert school districts for ten years. Then I was a stay at home mom and substitute teacher. I returned to full time teaching in 2018.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students can learn and succeed. My job as a teacher is to care for my students and teach them in a way that they can learn best. Students' active roles as learners and thinkers in the classroom helps them enjoy learning and get excited about their education.
