• Purpose:

    To explore chemistry fundamentals and apply concepts in hands on experiements. Experiments will include elephant toothpaste, building models, tie dye shirts, and much more! Students wil have the opportunity to compete in the "You be the Chemist" competition held annualy at ASU. The winners are eligible to win a cash prize.

     

    Meeting days

    Every other Wednesday

    • August - 14th and 28th
    • September – 11th and 25th
    • October – 9th and 23rd
    • November - 6th and 20th
    • December – 4th
    • 2020: TBD

    We will continue meeting every other week. I am still waiting to hear back from the "You be the Chemist" sponsors for the date of the competition. I will provide more details as I have them. The tentative plan is to take 5-8 students to the competition. These students I would like to see more frequently after they are selected in order to better prepare for the competition.

    This packet was specifically designed by the people in charge of the You be the Chemist Challenge. I highly recomend reading through the different sections as we cover them during our club meetings. It has a lot of useful information and what I will be using to help teach you all the material (instead of a textbook).
