Lost Dutchman Tournament
When:
October 19-20

Red Mountain High School
7301 E. Brown Road
Mesa, Arizona 85207
(east of Power Road on the south side of Brown Road)
Registration and Drops:
- On-line registration will be open on www.joyoftournaments.com/az until Wednesday, October 17 at 4:00PM.
- Any drops after that date will be assessed the entry fee amount for said event(s)
- Additions and changes will be accepted up until registration closes
- Please post drops and/or changes online as soon as you are aware of them
o Entries will ONLY be accepted through www.joyoftournaments.com/az
§ Do not fax or call in entries/drops
- Tournament registration/check-in will begin at 7:30AM Friday for Congress;
- Friday for Debate (if the team did not bring Congress competitors), registration will open at 2:00PM
- On Friday, registration will be in the main lobby of the auditorium.
- After 2:00, it will move to outside the tab room (2nd floor of main building, north hallway)
- 7:00AM Saturday for all IE events.
- On Saturday, registration will be outside the tab room (2nd floor of main building, north hallway).
Entry restrictions:
- Teams (schools) may enter up to SEVEN student or teams per event or division
- However, up to 28 entries are allowed for CONGRESS (7 members per house)
- We will LIMIT Student Congress to 4 Houses
- Students may enter Student Congress, one debate event, and two individual events

The Lost Dutchman Tournament will include

- Varsity and Novice LD (September/October Topic--Novice topic for LD)
- Varsity and Novice PFD (September/October Topic)
- Varsity and Novice Policy
- All IE events, including
- Extemporaneous
- Informative
- Impromptu
- Oratory
- Poetry
- Prose
- Humorous Interp
- Dramatic Interp
- Duo Interp
- Duet Acting
- Program Oral Interpretation
General Information
· You may enter up to seven students in each individual event
· All individual events with over 20 entries will have three preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals.
o All others will have three preliminary rounds that break straight to finals.
· Awards will be given to the top three in all individual events.
· The top two schools will receive a sweepstakes trophy
· We will also offer a small school sweepstakes trophy
Rounds:
- The number of preliminary debate rounds run will be four
- IEs will each have 3 preliminary rounds
- All individual events with over 16 entries will have three preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals.
- All others will have three preliminary rounds that break straight to finals.
Awards:
- Awards will be given to the top three speakers in each house of Congress.
- Awards will be given to semi-finalists and finalists in both debates and all divisions
- Awards will be given to the top four competitors in all individual events.
