Concept Map

When beginning the task of creating a new project of any type, it is important to first create a plan of what you are going to do. For example, if you wanted to retile your bathroom you wouldn't simply go to the store, buy a box of tiles, and begin to lay them. First you would probably measure the bathroom so you know how much to buy. Then you might get a price quote. Probably going online to find instructions on how to tile or speaking to an expert would follow. By the time you actually arrive at home with your tile you would be in a much better place to begin your project. A research project is really no different.

Let's face it, there is a lot of information out there on just about any subject you can think of. So, how can you possibly go about reading and reporting on it all? The answer is simple, you can't. The solution to this problem is to plan out exactly what information you are looking for and how you are going to find it. Once you have determined that, then your searches can be more specified and the information you find will be more useful.
