What is a 4-Year Academic Plan?

The 4-year academic plan is a place in Infinite Campus for students to plan and track their course selections as they move through their high school career.
 
How to Access the 4-Year Plan: (Please click here to view a copy of the directions with screenshots). 
Step 1: Login to your Infinite Campus
Step 2: On the left toolbar, select 'Academic Plan'
Step 3: Select Post Grad Location (In-State)/ Post Grad Plans (Four Year Public) then click 'Next'
Step 4: Your job is to select courses with your student for the upcoming years to finish out 12th grade.
  • In each grade level column, click in the box for that subject area (i.e. English) and type in the course your student would like to take.
    • Remember to select A and B courses to match (A being 1st Semester and B being 2nd Semester). 
  • Repeat this for each subject area (Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, Electives, Fine Arts, Physical Education, World Language, etc.).
  • *Important* if your student will be taking any classes at Chandler Online Academy (COA), there are generic courses you should select in the ‘non-credit’ area at the very bottom. 
    • This will just tell the counselor that the plan is to take those courses at COA.  
      • Once on the transcript, they will count toward the appropriate subject area credit.

Grad Tracker 

This 2026-2027 school year we are excited to introduce a brand new electronic credit check system known as Grad Tracker! 
 
Grad Tracker provides a comprehensive view of your high school student’s progress toward graduation in real time by pulling from your student’s 4-year academic plan within Infinite Campus as well as their transcript. It displays courses your student has already completed, those they are currently taking, and those they are planning to take in the future. 
 
Each course contributes to specific graduation requirements, allowing you to see how credits are being earned over time. By reviewing this information, you can easily determine whether your student is 'On Track' to meet graduation requirements or 'Off Track' if there are areas that may need additional attention.
 
You find directions below to access the parent/guardian portal through Infinite Campus to review your student’s Grad Tracker.
 
However, before you log in to review a Grad Tracker Report you MUST ensure that your student's 4-year academic plan is complete.

How To Access Grad Tracker

Step 1: Login to your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus.

Step 2: Under Quick Links, select 'Grad Tracker.'

Step 3: Upon selecting 'Grad Tracker' you will be directed to a screen that introduces Grad Tracker and provides details about its features. It will also display a student list featuring any of your 9th-12th grade children.

Step 4: Select 'View' located to the right of the student's details to access the Grad Tracker Report. 

  • At the top you will be able to quickly identify if your student is 'On Track' or 'Off Track' for graduation.

Education & Career Action Plan (ECAP) 

An ECAP reflects a student’s current plan of coursework, career aspirations, and extended learning opportunities in order to develop the student’s individual academic, career goals, and postsecondary plans. ECAP is a graduation requirement for ALL Arizona students. 

Within CUSD, we utilize SchooLinks to help students to explore their ECAP goals. Throughout high school students will use SchooLinks as an electronic portfolio to complete career interest inventory and personality assessments, track their extracurricular activities, build a resume, and log Career Technical Education (CTE) internship hours. 

Each grade level will receive different lessons within SchooLinks. Here is a snapshot of what will be delivered in each grade and by who:

Here is the Freshman 101 Guide to help you and your student navigate academic planning this year, along with the timeline for completing their 4-Year Plan.

9th Grade Academic Planning Timeline

  • Step 1: Classroom Counselor Visits (Happening Now)

Counselors will be visiting with 9th grade classes to introduce the freshmen to graduation requirements, walk students through how to map out their high school courses, and explore career tools.

  • Step 2: Family Action Step (Over Fall Break)

Over Fall Break, we ask students and families to log into Infinite Campus together to complete the initial draft of their student's 4-Year Academic Plan.

  • Step 3: One-on-One Counselor Meetings (After Fall Break)

Once school resumes after Fall Break, counselors will hold individual 1-on-1 meetings with every freshman to review their saved plan, adjust courses as needed, and ensure they are on track to meet all graduation and post-secondary goals.

Need to Knows

School sites will be hosting freshman parent meetings to explain the four year plan. These presentations are designed to provide a general overview of the ECAP process, graduation requirements, post-secondary planning, and the resources available to students throughout high school. Our goal is to provide families with the information they need through these presentations, while counselors remain available throughout the year for individual questions or concerns.

The 4-Year Plan allows you and your student to outline courses for 9th through 12th grade to ensure graduation requirements are met. Don't worry—this initial draft is flexible and can be changed as your student's interests evolve!

Graduation Requirements Overview (22 Total Credits Needed):

  • English: 4 credits
  • Math: 4 credits
  • Lab Science: 3 credits
  • Social Studies: 3 credits
  • Career / Fine Arts: 1 credit
  • PE: 1 credit & Health: 0.5 credit
  • Electives: 5.5 credits
    (Note: In-state universities require 2 credits of a World Language, which count toward elective credits).

Academic Plan Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log In: Access Infinite Campus Student Portal using your student ID and password.
  2. Navigate: Select Academic Plan from the left-hand menu, choose your student's post-graduation goal, and click Next.
  3. Select Courses: Enter desired courses for 9th–12th grade across each subject area.
    • Tip: Remember to select both "A" (1st semester) and "B" (2nd semester) for year-long courses. If planning to take courses through Chandler Online Academy (COA), select the COA placeholder options.
  4. Save: Click Save at the top of the page when finished.

What is ECAP? An Arizona graduation requirement that helps students explore 4-year plans, careers, post-secondary options, and build a resume.

Grad Tracker You can also check your student's progress at any time using Grad Tracker inside Infinite Campus. It displays real-time progress across Earned (ER), In-Progress (IP), and Planned (PL) credits to ensure your student stays on target for graduation.

SchooLinks CUSD uses SchooLinks (accessible via Clever), for students to complete career assessments and set college/career goals. During classroom visits, students complete a Top Skills Assessment that you can log in and view together!
