Students need healthy and nutritious meals to learn and grow. CUSD Nutrition offers healthy meals every school day. The Free and Reduced Lunch Program provides students from eligible families with free or reduced meals. For more information, visit the Free & Reduced Meals Application webpage. Eligibility from 2025-2026 school year EXPIRES on August 26, 2026. Please re-apply for the 2026-2027 school year.

MySchoolBucks Transaction Fees

There is a limit of $150 that can be loaded onto the account per transaction. When using MySchoolBucks.com platform to fund student accounts, the following fees will be charged to the user.

These fees can be avoided by adding money with check or cash, in person, at the school.

School cafeteria managers at all CUSD schools accept pre-payment via cash or check before school starts or before lunch.

Please make the check out to: CUSD Food & Nutrition. Add the school name, student name and ID Number to the memo line.

This is the most secure way to pay in person. If this method is chosen to add money to a student account, you can still monitor the transactions and balances using MySchoolBucks.com or the MySchoolBucks app.

Credit or Debit Card

An additional $3.75 will be charged per transaction.

E-Check or Bank Account

An additional $2.75 will be charged per transaction.

One-Time Pay

An additional $12.95 will be charged annually per student; $25.90 charged annually for 2 students; $26.95 charged annually for 3+ students.

*One Time Payments can only be made through E-Checks or Bank Account transactions.

One-Time Payment Set Up

If this is your first time making a meal payment:

Go to the MySchoolBucks Website and log into your account.

Click Meal Accounts and select Make a Payment.

Select OnePay Membership for eChecks.

If you have already made a previous meal payment:

Go to the MySchoolBucks Website and log into your account.

Click the person icon in the upper right corner and select My User Profile.

Under My Memberships click Update Membership.

Select OnePay Membership for eChecks.

Elementary students will be allowed to accrue a negative balance while efforts are made to collect the account deficiency.
No meal charges will be permitted at Junior High & High School. Students and parents of secondary students are encouraged to review student meal balances online at www.myschoolbucks.com or can call their school cafeteria manager for information.
À la carte purchases are not permitted when the account is in a negative balance.
Parents will be notified via phone & email when a child’s account is in a negative balance.
Negative balances are collected throughout the school year. Please keep your child's account current.
If there is a change in your financial status during the year, you may apply for Free & Reduced Meals status at any time.

Arizona Healthy Schools Act

The Basics of the Arizona Healthy Schools Act - Arizona Department of Education

Arizona Healthy Schools Act or House Bill 2164, prohibits public schools participating in federally funded meal programs from serving or selling ultra-processed foods containing certain additives and dyes during the school day.

The bill defines ultra-processed foods as those containing ingredients such as:

Potassium Bromate
Propylparaben
Brominated vegetable oil
Titanium Dioxide
Artificial food dyes (Yellow 5 & 6, Blue 1 & 2, Green 3, and Red 3 & 40)

The bill is in effect as of July 1, 2026.

Compliant birthday treats are available for purchase at each school cafeteria.

USDA Smart Snack compliant beverages and snacks are sold a la carte during meal periods; pricing varies depending on the item. If you would prefer to limit your students' purchases, you can contact your kitchen manager directly. They can put an alert on your students' account with a daily limit of your choosing.
