Our Goal
Our goal is to ensure every student has equal access to healthy and nutritious meals needed to thrive in a learning environment. The CUSD Food & Nutrition Angel Fund seeks to provide short-term assistance to families in need by covering negative lunch account balances and ensuring no child goes hungry throughout the school year. 

 

What We Do
CUSD cafeterias serve over 26,000 meals per day. Around 250 meals per day are served to students who do not have enough money in their account to cover their costs. These meals are identical to all other meals intentionally, so as to not stigmatize the students and allow them to enjoy the same meal options as their peers. This policy equates to a cost of over $40,000 each year that is covered by the District Food & Nutrition Department.  As an equal opportunity provider, we are committed to working with families and should the need arise for assistance, helping them with access to free and reduced priced meals if eligible. Our goal is to minimize disruption to serving our students at breakfast and lunch and the Angel Fund allows our cafe managers to continue service whenever possible.  

What We Need From YOU
This campaign allows individuals to contribute funds to help student meal accounts stay current. We need your help ensuring we can continue to serve every child.   

Donation Methods
You have the choice of donating to a specific school's Angel Fund or you can opt to donate to the CUSD General Angel Fund where the funds will be distributed district wide where needed.
