Chronic Health Condition
The district will provide appropriate educational opportunities for any student with a chronic health condition as defined in A.R.S. §15-346 and identified by a health care professional who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 7, 8, 13, 14, 17 or 25 or a registered nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15.
Homework will be made available in a timely manner to ensure that such students have the opportunity to successfully complete assignments and avoid losing credit because of their absence from school.
Further, students with chronic health conditions shall be provided flexibility in physical education activity requirements so that they may participate in the regular physical education program to the extent that their health permits Staff members responsible for physical education activities programs shall develop and implement such guidelines as defined in A.R.S. §15-346.
The Superintendent shall develop regulations for meeting the requirements of this policy.
