WHAT IS THE DEFINITION AND PURPOSE?
Diagnostic assessments are evidence-gathering procedures that provide a sufficiently clear indication regarding which targeted subskills a student does or does not possess.
The purpose of the i-Ready diagnostic is to:
1. Identify students who may be at risk and those that are in need of enrichment.
2. Monitor student progress over time.
3. Identify instructional groups with similar targeted skill needs.
4. Support teachers in planning for upcoming content by providing awareness of student knowledge in pre-requisite skills.
WHEN IS THIS ASSESSMENT ADMINISTERED? (TENTATIVE DATES: 26-27SY)
- Beginning of Year (Grades 1-5): July 20 - August 14
- Middle of Year (Grades K-5): November 16 - December 11
- End of Year (Grades K-5): April 19 - May 14
Students in 5th grade that are receiving 6th grade math content will not participate in i-Ready. Kindergarten will begin the i-Ready Diagnostic during the Middle of Year testing window.
New Students may be tested upon entry - even outside of the testing window.
