CORE Diagnostic Training

CORE Diagnostic Training

The following training content for CORE diagnostics are provided to support teachers in administering CORE progress monitoring for mastery to students after 2-3 weeks of instruction in their lowest deficit skill (stop skill). Additionally, Screener & Diagnostic team members will reference these materials to administer assessments to students during beginning, middle and end of year testing windows.

Grade Levels & Diagnostic Tool:

Kindergarten & 1st Grade - Students identified as at-risk (well below and below benchmark) based on DIBELS/Screener composite are administered CORE.

2nd Grade - It is a site-based decision to use CORE and/or Star Phonics for students that are at-risk (well below and below benchmark) based on DIBELS/Screener composite.

3rd Grade - Students identified as at-risk (well below and below benchmark) based on DIBELS/Screener composite are administered Star Phonics.

Assessment training guidance is found on the CUSD Assessment Webpage: Screener & Diagnostic Training Requirements
