CUSD is proud to offer DLI programs in both Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. We implement a 50/50 research-based model in elementary schools, a 70/30 model in middle/junior high schools, and a world languages continuation in high school. Students can start at an early age learning a new language while learning grade level content.

Each junior high school offers Honors Language Arts and Honors Mathematics courses. Students qualify for placement in an Honors course by meeting district requirements including a combination of previous success in the subject area and above average performance on state achievement tests.

Students self-select advanced high school courses. Honors and AP courses provide enriching, rigorous curriculum that engages high ability and high achieving students. Honors students must have the potential to accelerate through content standards and commit to in-depth study. Curriculum in Honors and AP courses is accelerated and complex.

Get a head start on college by earning credits while still in high school. Several classes at all CUSD high schools can be taken for Dual Enrollment credit.

Starting with the Middle Years Program to begin student's portfolio of experiences to help with applying for colleges and scholarships. next, the IB Diploma Program is the most rigorous academic path that a student can take at CHS. Finally, the Career-related Certificate is ideal for either the CTE student to complete two diploma courses at the Standard Level of the IB student to take two years in a CTE course area.
