My name is Julia DeRudder and I am the Inclusion Specialist for team 7A. I've been teaching since 2002, but I've been at Santan since 2009. I have worked in CUSD for my whole teaching career and started out at Erie Elementary. I am married and have three children. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on the Cardinals and going to Disneyland.
My Education and Professional Background
I have an undergraduate degree from ASU and a masters in curriculum and instruction from NAU.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe the fundamental goal of teaching is to foster learning. Learning takes place in many different circumstances and contexts. Humans have multiple learning styles and the classroom setting can encourage or inhibit learning depending on the dominant learning style of each student. Accommodating different learning styles creates an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.
