Welcome to Speech Therapy at Sanborn! I'm looking forward to a great year with all of our students, working hard and having some fun!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from Mississippi University for Women in 1995 and a master's degree in Speech Pathology from San Jose State University in 1998. I am licensed by the Department of Education, the Department of Health Services, and hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I have worked in schools as well as in the private sector with preschool and elementary age children in Nevada and here in Arizona with communication disorders including articulation/phonology, language, fluency, pragmatics, hearing impairment, and augmentative communication.
My Educational Philosophy
The ability to communicate is what connects us to other people. Communication can take many forms and it is my job to find where students are at in their skills and help them to move forward to be the best communicators they can be.
