    Welcome to Casteel High School and the new school year! I am honored to be part of an outstanding school and look forward to working with the students and staff.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I earned my Bachelors of Science in ELementary Education with a minor in Special Education from the University of Nebraska-Keasrney in 1980. I earned my Masters in Special Education form the University of Nebraska -Lincoln in 1992. I also completed an Educational Leadership degree for Principal Certification from Northern Arizona University. I have taught in Nebraska, Germany and now Arizona.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe every child has their own unique quality which needs to be cared for and challenged in order for them to grow to their full potential. I want to take students with different learning styles and see them develop into confident learners. I have a saying that I always use with students who are struggling and feel they are incapable of doing a new task. "You never know what you can do until you try." As an educator, it is important not only to help students you are teaching, but also give them direction in helping themselves.
