My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, and from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and a Post Master's Degree in Administration. I am a certified Mid-Level Science, Mid-Level English Language Arts, and K-6 Elementary teacher. I hold a Structured English Immersion endorsement and I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent Science.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy of promoting student achievement and the success of all students is that an educational leader must set and maintain high expectations for all students by holding him or herself to the highest of standards professionally, personally, and educationally. All students will respond to an educational leader who sets these kinds of expectations, because the students will know they are in an environment where they can trust that every action that takes place in the school building is to benefit each individual child. This will be evident in the student-centered teaching philosophies of the teachers, the inquiry driven environment of thinking and learning that is created, and finally, the safe environment where each individual child feels encouraged to be themselves because they are allowed to express themselves, show their strengths and weaknesses, and know that they are valued for who they are.
